/ Innovation Tower

Designed by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the new Innovation Tower will be located at the northeastern tip of the university campus. Upon completion, the Tower will provide some 12,000 square meters of net operational floor area and able to accommodate about 1,800 staff and students. J.C.DISI’s new SPACE will be located on the 12th floor of the Tower.

Innovations, like Johnson (2010) claimed, are Slow Hunches: We research individually, finding information we need bit by bit to build our ideas. While great ideas are usually works of years of decade, the only way to accelerate the process, is to find hunches from others. ‘Eureka’, hence is the moment when two matching hunches meet. In other words, idea needs solitude time to incubate where serendipity requires places that encourage engagement and allow hunches to be collided. It is the continuous alternations between these two actions inspire new innovations. How can furniture facilitate this connection?
